Snapchat’s My AI Chatbot Experiences Glitch, Posts Stories
Since its launch in February, my AI, the digital assistant within the Snapchat Plus app, has been experiencing frequent breakdowns and technical glitches. Tuesday was no exception, as the chatbot unexpectedly posted Stories lasting only a second on users’ feeds and subsequently became unresponsive for extended periods. It is worth noting that My AI lacks the capability to post to Stories, leading to speculation on Twitter about the potential arrival of the Singularity.
Did Snapchat Ai just add a picture of my wall/ceiling to their Snapchat story?

As first reported by TechCrunch, the My AI chatbot posted a two-tone image on Stories that one user thought was a shot of a ceiling. Also, when asked about the cryptic message, the bot either went dark or replied that it had a technical problem. This explanation proved insufficient for many users, causing a small panic and jokes about the imminent awakening of the AI system. In the end, though, it was really a technical issue.
“My AI experienced a temporary outage that has now been resolved,” a spokesperson told TechCrunch, adding that “My AI currently does not have a Stories feature.”
The My AI bot ships as part of the company’s $3.99 per month Snapchat Plus package and offers users a variety of features. These include AR filter recommendations and suggestions for restaurants and activities based on currently popular locations on the Snap Map. It also offers AI functions in group chats, photo and video capture, and text messages, as well as an AI persona. Text-to-image genAI is also said to be in the works, even though the ads have already arrived.
